E-body Standard Gauge Faceplates ID
(1970-1974 Plymouth Barracuda/Cuda and Dodge Challenger)
1. All 1970 Challenger standard cluster speedometer faceplates originally had mile-per-hour numbers printed in a circular array, meaning that the numbers were not all horizontally oriented. Some 1970 Barracudas also used this speedometer face.
2. All other E-body standard cluster applications supposedly had horizontally-oriented speedometer numbers.
3. All 1970 Challenger standard cluster small gauges had spelled-out printed-on names: “GASOLINE” “TEMPERATURE” “ALTERNATOR”.
4. All other E-body standard gauges read “GALS. FUEL” “TEMP” “ALT”.
5. Most 1970 Challenger small gauges had a crescent-shaped printed-on borderline around the operating range. Some mid-year cars had no border-lines.
5. 1970 Challenger clock face hour marks measure ⅛" long. A dummy clock face has a center crosshatch, and two circles.
6. All other E-body standard cars with a clock have ¼" long hour marks. A dummy clock face has no crosshatch, but does have a single circle.
